After months and months of speculation on where Kevin Love would end up , we finally have an answer.
Today is the day the mega-trade is official. One reason it took so long was due to the contract Andrew Wiggins had signed with the Cavs. In the contract it states he couldn’t be traded until August 23rd. Well , today is the 23rd let’s break down the who goes where.
In the trade, Minnesota will receive Philadelphia’s Thaddeus Young, Cleveland’s Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett and a $6.3 million trade exception. Wiggins and Bennett went No. 1 overall in the 2014 and 2013 NBA drafts, respectively.
As you can see the T-Wolves get some nice young talent, and on top of that a good forward from the 3rd party team involved aka the Sixers. The Cavs add Love which gives them a talented and young BIG 3. Let’s see how this all plays out this 2014-2015 NBA Season. Last season Love averaged 26 points , 12 rebs , and 4 assists his best NBA season ever. Now with a more talented team lets see what he will bring to the table. His numbers may drop but the Cavs will most likely end up with their best season record in years , alongside a playoff berth.
