In the wake of this past primary election (June 7th, 2016) I felt the need to express the importance of voting in general. This upcoming election has been polarizing people and making opinions more known than arguably any other election.
Now don’t worry, I’m not here to shove my political views down anybody’s throat but merely to express the urgency of voting based on yours. Once you vote, that’s it. It cannot be undone and contrary to your belief your one vote can make a difference.
Think about it. What if those people that had a valid reason behind their vote stayed home because they thought “it wouldn’t matter”? That mentality will have a snowball effect resulting in an outcome more detrimental than previously assumed. Regardless of your political views or stance on the foundation of this country, not voting today is a waste of the very right that our fellow men and women fought and died for.
I’d like to reiterate that I’m not preaching or discussing my specific views regarding candidates. All I’m stressing is the simple fact that you (and us all!) must further educated yourself and then cast an informed vote that will lead to the choosing of the next leader of this free world.
While most feel like now more than ever Americans will end up having to choose between the lesser of two evils, as Americans we still all are able to do just that, choose. This is something that only a few decades ago not all of us were able to do! In the grand timeline of humanity that is not a long time at all, especially for a developed super power of the world.
That is why it is imperative for all who are capable to vote to do so this and every election. By neglecting to do so, you are in a sense having more to do with who you don’t want to lead this country than with whom you do.
