Some would argue that at this current moment Ronnie Fieg is quite possibly the most influential figure in NYC street culture today.
With every KITH release growing more and more popular, this next installment in the legacy of Ronnie Fieg features a tribute tothe service men and women of the NYPD in the form of a classic silhouette Adidas Consortium EQT Support ’93.
The materials used on this shoe are second to none as usual in most Ronnie Fieg collabs, this in particular features a navy oily wrinkled nubuck and a supple glove like leather that represents the NYPD uniform. Ronnie’s attention to detail on this shoe was so specifically and carefully thought out, the woven materials used on the quarter panels are to be that of the kevlar used to protect New York City’s Finest. 3M paint covers the three stripes on the lateral side which perfectly matches the navy throughout the entire shoe. Fieg seems to have this sort of “signature” on most of his creations and on this shoe we see a beautiful gold toe box that really pops. The gold toe is the way he represents the badge worn by officers in the NYPD that also has a small detail of fish scales that signify an element of levity.
Kith will be donating proceeds from this limited release to the September 11 Memorial & Museum Foundation to honor those lost in the tragic events of 9/11. Ronnie is a true native of New York City and with this first time collaborative effort alongside Adidas , this has all the makings of an instant classic in the NYC sneaker scene.
