This year marks the 20th anniversary since the first NBA 2K video game.

For the past 20 years 2K Sports has set the bar for basketball gaming. The original 2K was released in November of 1999, Allen Iverson was the cover athlete. Each year the game has evolved making 2K the greatest Basketball video game of all time.

This year will be no different, especially with it being the 20 year anniversary. King James will cover this edition after having an amazing year in the NBA and is currently playing in his 8th straight finals series. 2K will release at all major gaming retailers and online on September 11th, 2018. NBA 2K19 will again launch with two editions, a $59.99 standard edition carrying the Sept. 11 launch date and no extra goodies, and a $99.99 20th Anniversary Edition loaded with digital content for use in the game’s expansive MyPlayer and MyTeam modes. That one is available Sept. 7.

As a long time 2K player I am more than excited for this release. Check out the trailer 2K released this morning for 2K19.The trailer features MC’s 2 Chainz, Rapsody and Jerreau.
