April is National Autism Awareness month and while it’s crucial to spread awareness it is also toubleing that cases of Autism have increased so rapidly that such a month even needs to exist.
That being said, educating ones self is one step closer to finding a cure. According to the Autism Society [ https://www.autism-society.org/what-is/]:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate, and interact with others. ASD is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condition” that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees.
Countless documentaries and books have come out in recent years sheding light on this disorder. Listen to the story of the founder of The Autism Society, Dr. Ruth Christ Sullivan, below and remember you don’t need a designated month to spread awareness!
